China’s national standard Ultraviolet Radiation Sources for Disinfection — Part 3: Excimer Ultraviolet Radiation Sources (GB/T 19258.3-2026), led by GMY Lighting Technology Co., Ltd., was officially issued in May 2026 and will take effect on December 1, 2026.
The excimer UV disinfection sector has long faced challenges including inconsistent testing standards and variable product quality. This national standard directly addresses those gaps by defining the scope, classification, nomenclature, technical requirements, test methods, and inspection rules for excimer UV radiation sources — with 222 nm as the primary wavelength — and establishing an authoritative, industry-wide benchmark for the first time.
Beyond filling a long-standing void in domestic standardization and bringing greater regulatory clarity to the industry, the publication affirms GMY’s proven R&D capabilities, deep technical expertise, and recognized leadership in the UV sector — particularly in excimer UV disinfection. With over two decades of experience in photonic and optical technology, GMY has developed a comprehensive portfolio of UV light source products, contributing to the sector’s standardized and quality-driven development.
172 nm and 222 nm: Two Wavelengths, Multiple Applications
GMY has achieved commercial-scale production of excimer UV radiation sources at two key wavelengths — 172 nm and 222 nm — serving diverse applications across high-end manufacturing and public space disinfection:
· 172 nm Excimer Lamps: Designed for demanding industrial processes including UV surface cleaning, photocuring, surface modification, ultrapure water treatment, and volatile organic compound (VOC) removal. These lamps deliver stable, reliable performance for precision and high-end manufacturing environments.
· 222 nm Excimer Lamps: Ideal for disinfection in public spaces such as elevators, supermarkets, hotels, and medical facilities, enabling efficient and safe disinfection solutions.
High-Power Amalgam UV Lamps: Industrial-Scale Disinfection and Purification
In addition to its excimer light source range, GMY offers a well-established portfolio of high-power amalgam UV lamps rated at 320 W, 500 W, 800 W, and 1,000 W. Recognized for their extended service life and cost efficiency, these lamps are engineered for large-scale industrial environmental applications, including integrated wastewater treatment systems and industrial exhaust deodorization.
Looking ahead, GMY will continue to drive innovation in core UV technologies and expand the application of photonic solutions across infection control, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, controlled environment agriculture, and environmental remediation. The company remains committed to meeting the diverse and specialized needs of its customers through consistent product quality and responsive technical support — sustaining its position as a trusted leader in the long-term development of the UV industry.
