With the continuous development of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection technology, UV disinfection products have been widely applied in fields such as healthcare, food processing, air purification, and water treatment. The diversity of product types and application scenarios continues to expand, placing higher demands on performance indicators and application specifications for UV products of different wavelengths and purposes.
At present, existing standards such as GB/T 19258.1-2022 primarily cover traditional UV products and have yet to fully accommodate the characteristics and application requirements of emerging technologies such as excimer ultraviolet (222 nm) radiation sources. In order to improve the standard system and regulate product development, testing, and application requirements, it is necessary to establish dedicated standards to fill the gaps in related technical specifications. Through the continuous improvement of national standards and the establishment of standardized requirements, this initiative will help domestic excimer ultraviolet products overcome technical barriers, support industrial upgrading within the "dual circulation"development framework, and lay a foundation for participation in international standard formulation.
To promote the standardized and regulated development of UV disinfection technology in China and further safeguard public health, GMY, as a principal drafting unit, will actively participate in the preparation of the national standard "Ultraviolet Radiation Sources for Disinfection-Part 3: Excimer Ultraviolet Radiation Sources" (Project Number: 20251262-T-607).
With over two decades of experience in the research, development, and manufacturing of lighting technology applications, GMY has maintained a strong focus on applying lighting technology across multiple fields, including infection control disinfection, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, controlled-environment agriculture, and environmental purification. In the field of UV infection control and disinfection, the company has accumulated extensive technical achievements and industry experience.
In recent years, GMY has actively participated in national key R&D programs and contributed to the drafting of national standards such as "Low-Pressure High-Intensity Ultraviolet Lamps", earning authoritative recognition within the industry and continuously contributing to the high-quality, standardized development of UV disinfection technologies.
This time, as a principal drafting unit for the national standard "Ultraviolet Radiation Sources for Disinfection-Part 3: Excimer Ultraviolet Radiation Sources", GMY will fully leverage its technical capabilities and industry expertise. Under the guidance of competent authorities and executing agencies, and in collaboration with relevant enterprises and organizations, GMY will actively promote the progress of the standard drafting work.
We sincerely invite enterprises, research institutes, universities, and application units with technical expertise and practical experience in fields such as excimer UV radiation source design and manufacturing, testing and evaluation, and application integration to actively participate in the research, drafting, review, and validation of this standard.
