Phalaenopsis, known as the "queen of orchids," is admired for its elegant form, unique butterfly-shaped flowers, and vibrant, long-lasting colors. As a popular and valuable ornamental flower, Phalaenopsis is favored for its extended blooming period and high aesthetic value.
Phalaenopsis belongs to the category of monopodial orchids, which means it does not develop side shoots easily, making conventional propagation methods such as division difficult. Additionally, its seeds lack endosperm, leading to a very low germination rate under natural conditions, which makes sexual reproduction through seed sowing unfeasible. Consequently, tissue culture has become the primary method for large-scale production of Phalaenopsis.
However, during the tissue culture seedling stage, Phalaenopsis often faces problems such as slow growth, poor seedling condition, underdeveloped roots, and low survival rates during transplanting. These issues can affect production efficiency and economic benefits. To address this, GMY has developed a customized supplementary lighting solution specifically for Phalaenopsis tissue culture seedlings, which meets the plant's unique light requirements.
The professional spectrum design provides a better light source for Phalaenopsis tissue culture seedlings. GMY's Phalaenopsis tissue culture light uses a 350-750nm continuous spectrum, scientifically formulated to meet Phalaenopsis' needs for both abundant and trace light. The formula specially enhances the blue (450nm) and violet (400nm) light ratios to improve seedling growth.
1.Promotes growth
2.Enhances dry matter accumulation
3.Improves root and seedling development
4.Increases stress resistance
5.Boosts survival rates
GMY conducted a comparative experiment to test the effectiveness of the tissue culture light on "Anna" Phalaenopsis. The trial included 10 groups using GMY tissue culture lights and 3 groups using competitor products commonly used in Phalaenopsis tissue culture factories. The results were as follows:
Growth performance of Anna Phalaenopsis under different light treatments
Data-Growth performance of Anna Phalaenopsis under different light treatments
1.Treatment 5 and Treatment 7 showed advantages in root number, average root length, plant weight, and plant height.
2.Compared to competitor product 3, Treatment 5 showed a 22% increase in root length, 144% increase in plant weight, and 65% increase in plant height.
3.Compared to competitor product 3, Treatment 7 showed a 22% increase in root length, 126% increase in plant weight, and 70% increase in plant height.
